Intro

You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’
But I dream things that never were; and I say, ‘Why not?’ - G.B. Shaw

Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting: “Holy Cow.. What a ride!”

It is said that starting something is always the hardest part. I have to admit, I agree. Once again, I am sitting in front of my computer screen, thinking about what I should write. How do I explain the things that happened, are happening, and will be happening to me in a structure that will be good enough for you readers/visitors to come to, stop by, read, and enjoy?

My old blog is now “history,” since I crossed at Kirgiz, the Chinese border. The trip continued full-speed ahead, but, unfortunately, I have not written anything on the net since then. From there, I continued to go east. There were moments of crying, happiness, frustration, sacrifice, pain, loneliness, cheerfulness, etc and moments when you are happy from the inside out, when just a look to the stars gives you peacefulness, when smiles from strangers by the road give you energy for the next two days, when you sing to yourself, when you just smile for no reason, when you are the person who goes to bed with the sun, you eat when you are hungry, and you just bike as on your best days.

At this moment, I am happy. I do not need anything, because I have everything. My dreams have become reality.

For the people who do not know me, on March 5, 2006, I said goodbye to my family and headed east by bike, to see how my dreams would become reality. A little over 17,000 kilometers later, I managed to come to Beijing. I had a full year of ups and downs, and I’ve now decided for one more year. Why? Because now I am going home by bike, as well, just taking the southern route this time.

Yep, I am living the full life.

Last but not least: I am not the first not the last who is doing the trip like this. But yeap I am doing it my way. (My way - Frank Sinatra)
