“Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed. - Corita Kent
It has been quiet for some time. To say Goodbye to Kate in Nepheli was very difficult. I was putting it off day by day. I thought I had loads of time to get to Munming, but I was wrong. Really wrong.
The flat Country changed into steep hills…never ending hills. And like that would not be enough. The weather is playing its game. Raining that sees no end…so this is so called subtropical Climate- never ending rain.
Although today is MY day- it’s not raining…not yet shall I say. I decided to visit a small village PingAn, known for their rice fields. Chinese would not be Chinese if they did not embellish the truth a little bit ….the road leading towards the village, was not mentioned on the map. And due to heavy showers the roads are all muddy…few inches of red mud everywhere, heavy like clay. My bike and my clothes are not happy about that either. But it’s too late now. No turning back My mission today is TO STAY DRY during the day and the night too… But the same story followed the following morning.
It finally stops raining, but then the nature shows its disagreement with human mind. Avalanch ….you hear laud noises somewhere further away…and then your path is nowhere to be found. Sometimes you have to carry the bike…and at that moment the question pops out in your mind- WHY? WHY am I doing this? I do not know the answer at that time….
But after every rain the sun will shine again. And the sun does show again and it shows you where you got lost. It is soo beautiful. Loads of hills. Loads of varied community. People dresses are so colorful, so beautful and different. Each village looks so different and so amazing at the same time.
The Cities compere to them are so COLD/ non colourful. One bad thing though, is finding a place to sleep..I have tried everything ….choosing between rolling in muddy ground or nice public toilet. The last is preferable, at least they are clean. And in the morning the alarm “load voice/ screaming one” wakes you up or the rain. But I was nicely surprised a few times
I try to follow my idea not to use a tent..which you cannot use anyways, . There are rice fields everywhere or steep hills everywhere. Just a note I only paid for my accommodation only 6 times…in duration of 80 days.
Right now I am trying to find the boundaries…the common sense is on holidays. And I am glad i am travelling solo. And when I am soaked wet, I lough to myself together with all the farmers on the fields…we are all crazy people…but happy ones.
Until next time…take care and try to do something naughty…so at least it’s not boring
